The first guide to the Lubuska Land

On May 25 this year, a publishing premiere took place in the stained glass room of the Lubuska Land Museum in Zielona Góra. The first-ever guide to the Lubuskie region, "Lubuskie - from Warta to Lower Lusatia," commissioned by the Lubuskie Regional Tourist Organization "LOTUR," was made by Mirek Osip-Pokrywka.

President of the Lubuskie Regional Tourist Organization "LOTUR" Jadwiga Błoch introduced the invited guests to the genesis of this publication. - So far available on the publishing market tourist publications about our region were not numerous. The vast majority were guides covering a particular section of the region (city, municipality, county). As the Lubuskie Regional Tourist Organization LOTUR, we noticed this gap and decided to create a compendium of tourist information, taking advantage of the experience of the author, who has already compiled guides to various regions of our country several times. - President Błoch stressed.

The Lubuska Land Museum was attended by local government officials, guides and regionalists. Local media were also present. The timing of the guide's premiere was not accidental, as the tourist season has recently begun, all restrictions have been lifted and the tourism industry can finally function as it did before the pandemic. Filling this publishing gap on the very day of the premiere, turns out to be a hit. - There was a lot of interest in the publication during the presentation at the Museum, and after the broadcast of materials from the premiere in the local media, we are receiving a lot of inquiries about buying the guide - adds Jadwiga Błoch.

As part of the promotion of the guide, there was also a meeting with the author, who came from his native Lublin. Mirek Osip-Pokrywka spent three months last year in Lubuskie province, which resulted in a richly illustrated - 300 photos - and content-filled 220 pages of the guide. Describing his work on the publication, he noted that the greatest difficulty was to make a selection in view of the enormity of places attractive to tourists that he met in Lubuskie. The materials that eventually found their way into the guidebook can be divided into several main topics. These are: nature (forests, lakes and rivers), architectural monuments, tourist routes and flavors of Lubuskie.

The guide "Lubuskie - from Warta to Lower Lusatia" was published in an edition of 2 thousand copies. The publisher leaves the reviewing of the publication to the readers - tourists, regionalists, guides, tour pilots - anyone who wants to get to know the Lubuskie Land. Distribution is handled by the publisher - Lubuska Regional Tourist Organization "LOTUR" based in Zielona Gora. All interested are invited to contact us by e-mail: j.bloch@lotur.eu
